Phuntsok Dhumkhang: Darjeeling 1961-1966
Phuntsok Namgyal Dhumkhang is the former director of the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA), and a singer, songwriter, accomplished dramnyen player, Tibetan music educator, and master calligrapher. After arriving in India in 1959, he played founding roles in the establishment of the Tibetan Refugee School in Darjeeling, and the first Tibetan schools in other settlements including Mussoorie.
